Five
Approaches to Implementation
The summarized results of each area of focus revealed a pattern of five
basic approaches to implementation: marketing, community organizing, programming,
partnerships and incentives.
Marketing activities and materials will be developed to promote the
value of education and provide information about educational
opportunities. The
marketing program will be a continuous process to promote lifelong learning
as a community value.
Community organizing will be vital for the recruiting of volunteers
from the general community and the coordinating their efforts.
The goal of
community organizing will be to involve every individual in the city
in making Paramount
a learning community.
Programs will be implemented to provide additional learning and training
opportunities in the city utilizing a wide array of community resources.
The programs will be designed to improve the community’s workforce
skills and educational attainment outside the traditional classroom. Delivery
of the programs will be closely coordinated with the community organizing
program.
Partnerships and linkages will be established with local businesses,
educational institutions and community organizations to promote
collaboration and the
leveraging of additional resources for residents. In addition to
maximizing current resources, funding will be sought from foundations
and other
sources to support the development and implementation of supplementary
education
and training programs.
Incentives will be used to enhance the power of marketing and generate
motivation for educational attainment and success. Incentives
influence the motivation or participation of a community and
can include
anything from celebrity speakers and monetary rewards to recognition
of student
achievement or improvement.
