Huntington Park

About the Community

Pacific Boulevard in Huntington Park is well known throughout the Los Angeles Basin’s Latino community. Whether people come to shop, dine, or dance, Pacific Boulevard accommodates it all. People come to buy clothes for special occasions like baptisms, first communions, quinceañeras, formal events and weddings. In addition to shopping, Pacific Boulevard is also regionally known for its bars and restaurants featuring live music in the evenings. It is also a common location for remote broadcasts from local Spanish language media stations. However, the city is much more than a regional commercial and entertainment center, Pacific Boulevard is only one aspect of this city. Together with the single and multi-family residential neighborhoods, industrial districts, and parks it is a dynamic and vibrant community.

The Huntington Park Sustainable Community Plan

Forty residents and business leaders created committees that met over seven months to discuss their vision for Huntington Park. They identified issues to address to achieve that vision, and how to get from here to there. The resulting document, the Huntington Park Sustainable Community Plan outlines the issues, strategies, resources, and implementation steps. Committees addressed the following five topics: Community Design, Education, Housing & Land Use, Economic Development, and Quality of Life and Environmental & Public Safety. The plan is available as a “pdf” or portable file format document. Click here to download a copy in English and Spanish. 1.1mb
